New behavior of my phone.
Earlier today I upgraded my phone to the CyanogenMOD 9.0 final ROM, an Android 4.0-based operating system for my phone.

It now blinks the touch keys when I have a new notification and the screen is locked.

I don't know if this is a new feature, or an old feature newly turned on. I hadn't noticed it before.

The setting for it is buried: Settings->Device->Advanced->Sensors->Enable keys notifications

I think I like it, especially since I can't figure out how to make notifications reliably make noise.

I am using a variant on CM9 for my phone since the TMo G2 is not directly supported by them. Other than some volume control issues I've been very happy with it. It might not stop my migration to Fruit upon the next release as everything in this house seems to be shifting in that direction and the entire platform integrates very well, but in the meantime it's taking an abandoned device of mine and breathed new life into it.
