Someone on my Friends List posted about their experiences with Roses Home Dish, a weekly uncooked casserole delivery service in Ithaca, NY.

I'm interested in Skitten's view about it.

the only pricing information is the $12 deposit for the casserole dish.... did you figure out how much it costs per meal? I doubt it's affordable as food shopping....
intriguing though...

If you look under "See This Weeks Dish" it shows what this weeks dish, and what it costs. An 8" square casserole of "Chicken (or Tofu) and Pasta in Wild Mushroom Sauce ($18)", an optional $6 special salad (baby spinach, orange-shallot vinnaigrette, candied walnuts, goat cheese, sweet dried categories) or $4 basic green salad, and foccacia bread (comes with the salads, but is available for $2 ala carte).

For this week, it works out to between $4.50-6 a serving for the casserole. However, I suspect we can cut it into smaller pieces for you.

That sounds pretty cool!

Probably more than it would cost to make the casseroles yourself, but not a bad price at all, and cheaper than eating out. The salad & bread prices are great.

Now I wish we had something like that around here. :-)
