Hmmm, I had a failed fasting blood draw this morning, and was told to drink lots of water to get nice plump veins for a re-attempt tomorrow morning. So far, since my fast thin evening has begun I've drunk over a gallon. I'm still drinking. (This is more than normal, but I tend to drink a lot anyway. Usually it's seltzer, not flat water, though.)

I realized I need to take my evening meds, which includes a diuretic.

I sense a potential issue here.

I usually drink in the morning when I get up, for a fasting blood draw.

I'm going to do that, too. But I want to be nice and hydrated, since I seem to have problematic veins. This isn't the first time there's been trouble, but it is the first time I've had to come back.

The phlebotomist was so embarrassed about not being able to get a vein (she's been doing this for 26 years, and has always been able to get my veins before!), and seems so relieved when I suggested coming back tomorrow.
